Paul Nightingale

Paul Nightingale is a Senior Research Fellow, at SPRU, University of Sussex, UK (since 1997) and an Associate Fellow of the Open University’s Innovation, Knowledge and Development centre. He is currently a UK editor of Industrial and Corporate Change, and was previously editor of Research Policy two top international management journals and has published widely on innovation in financial services, capital goods use in service firms, financing of biotechnology, bio security, and the nature and use of knowledge in journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Research Policy, Trends in Biotechnology, Industrial and Corporate Change. He was one of the authors of the Treasury report ‘Talent not Technology’ (2000) and was main academic author of the recent NESTA report ‘The Innovation Gap’ (2006) which now provides the basis for innovation policy in a number of OECD countries. He has run a number of major research projects on bio security, biotechnology, finance and science policy, including a recently awarded £1.3m EPSRC project on innovative financial products and the funding of high tech firms (jointly with Cass Business School, UK).
